Preparation for specialist study 

Context skills and Experience  

When I first started in the college my skills was  creating sound  and producing script text by marking were do the music goes from beginning till ending of all performances that took place in theatre. And no experience of using a lighting desk. I am good talking to people and hope these commutation skills would develop in further  Introduction  for the performances unit two date was  September 25th 2018 I used the sound desk  for the very first time, I wasn't nervous   on the equipment  name of it is   Allen and Heath sound mixer. I didn't know what was Q lab at first, A student from the second year  in  production arts level 3 he explained to me how to use Q lab is a software by download music on Mp3 Youtube converter. It was confusing because all it is pressing the space bar to play music and then escape button on Mac-book laptop. During my spare time kept watching videos on YouTube about learning how to become a live sound technician by learning different equipment to use sound desk  for it example Yamaha sound desk EMX5014c powered mixer, Allen and Heath sound desk Qu24 digital mixing desk system and looking at fades if  volume is higher or lower. By making sure that most of sound channels are in correct order 
using the sound mixer  it has be on or off  all the sound mixer channel one , two ,  three each on those rows.   During December my tutor told me I should do the front of house for Christmas  Carol performance I didn't work by myself I worked with a second year student. both of us had to go the workshop on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.  To plan how we going to design the door into a Victorian era. we where in the lesson both of us had to research on the google search engine on sound effects website is called www.ruyasonic.com
which is the voice over of Scrooge in a Mp3 what we both decide to do is download it from the internet transfer to my USB and then we ask our  tutor and Head of performing  arts  to listen the voice over also she like it will be good for the front of house entrance when families and friends come to see the performances is always excellent idea to do. and one second year student was in the workshop sorting out the door design how it will look like and me I had to go ask music technician if i can borrow audio visual speaker then send a email to Head of performing arts about voice over of scrooge    afterwards Mp3 was inside the audio visual speaker already. sound effect came out good from both side of each volume in the speakers made volume so loud everyone could hear it  theatre. For Christmas Carol performance it went well because I had to communicate with my second year classmate the both of us took our time to plan research the equipment that we need to order some Christmas equipment so we ask her she is  a apprentice technician we both told her what we want was Christmas tree, Christmas lights. At first I didn't really want to do the front of house because for me that's not my interests for  main focus was using the sound desk on that day. Front of house is a really important job as a live sound technician is good to have a sound person or musician to know if there is problem with a or  error with the sound system. and able to communicate with backstage. 

The Royal Opera House challenge and date was September  my first design is a set which was based on Romeo and Juliet the scene that chosen was vision four therefore it was when crypt scene both side of for it example Montague's  is Romeo family and Juliet Capulet family. and plan was researching different types of set design architecture was produced in south Africa bosjes chapel.  I also had to find tribal African lounge chair, Late 19th century African studded chair, origami pavilion, menges and kinppers last thing is the Daniel libeskind  house Connecticut.  Discovered how I can compare  my drawing  in workshop to the internet which I understood the texture of model it can be made so many different  ways to presenting by Royal opera house judges know my  set - design by looking at the way it is and what I decide myself I went to the workshop on Monday , Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. I started making  the design for set-design , I measured three wooden boxes on how I had too figure it out three wooden sets that was created by me also ask workshop teacher for help and workshop technician to give me some advice on how can  I build an excellent set- design by writing everything down in my art book then taking pictures on the phone / also putting everything on my blogs everyday. 

My workshop teacher told me I should research on google search engine my African traditional design which based on my culture I had to discover about kings and queens in African is similar to Romeo and Juliet love story relationship normal i had to find African prints on internet they were called African stripe cotton linen Bohemian, Roylco African textile paper. I printed out those pictures and then stick in my art book where I wrote everything  down on a sheet of paper  
 I Went to the Royal opera house website to find a bit more on set design where  a woman talked  about her set - design that she created it was to do Romeo and Juliet scene that she wanted to do in her project. she said "Anyone could do a set design nobody's perfect at design things".

Scottish play Macbeth by William Shakespeare the actual rehearsal and performance was on March was doing the sound for black team and pink team it took me time go their  rehearsal room in classroom. Me I was ever around  in the college that much because doing my work experience in white light which based in south Wimbledon the area wanted to focus on was video and visual - sound went their on a Monday. The next day was doing sound for main both groups  I enjoy work on the Allen and heath sound desk mixer which is a  very good equipment to use for all performance that take place in theatre. Also during that day of the performance group worked with was black group what did is drama teacher decide to gave me play script by marking were sound effect starts from beginning and finish off till ending play. Myself i approved so much by using the Allen and heath sound desk mixer i never expected it could happen on that day and one person that does acting he was  doing Btec certificate technical theatre he did the lighting for the Tuesday performance. I worked with the person very well both of us was  communicating through out play all it is about to have a good team work  and on Thursday performance it was the pink group I worked with my classmate and different person that does acting is well he was also doing a different role was a stage manager telling me on the sound and classmate using lighting equipment what to do.  he gave the  both of us some excellent instructions. How the pink group wanted the music to be differently from their classmates that was doing the same performances on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday also Thursday. 
My tutor  was stocked on how I approved by using Allen and heath sound desk mixer she was very exciting to see me on my comfort zone for  first time  I understand what i was doing on the day of performance. 
as a sound technician gave  instructions from my classmate  on could we approve the performance I decided to do is download new sound effect on YouTube it was called war drums, ceremonial music , bird sound effect, Apparition one ,  Apparition two , Apparition Three. In November our tutor told the whole production arts level three class we are going to Disneyland Paris trip to look at different costumes, set-design ideas, sound and lighting it was 30th birthday of Mickey Mouse also the place looked amazing where you can go with your friends and families to see theme parks, Disney characters, Restaurants, cafes, Disney store. what like about Disneyland Paris everyone that worked there had a very strong communication with each other therefore different backgrounds such as French,English, German, Dutch, Swedish,  that works in Disneyland Paris they have huge impact together as they knew Disneyland Paris made so much profit to company as CEO founder Walt Disney he has produced so many things like he was one started to created Mickey Mouse Animated drawings was specialities Minnie Mouse, their pet dog. when Disneyland Paris trip was over our tutor gave whole class a worksheet based on PowerPoint presentation to do the name of unit was called unit 3 production trip. Then afterwards I didn't get time to finish off my presentation about Disneyland Paris I researched on jobs, theme parks, Heath and Safety to work with others in the place where there is always hazards where a males or females could to do something such as drinking near the sound desk equipment or lighting desk  equipment you will get Electric shock. making you don't trip over any cables that in the theme parks. Early in the morning Disneyland Paris every stuff member will attend talk to the manager to speak about what will happen today or even yesterday so what can anyone improve in a workplace environment.

Evaluation
 After the summer holiday when it is finally over my main focus will have to be the  sound desk equipment when we have access in theatre by myself. Therefore I could ask my tutor if I can order DVDs on live sound technician and books too because I want to improve on using the Allen and Heath sound desk equipment. I should also write down things on my blog and notebook. Afterwards I would like to apply for work experience in a music studios and going to sound technician events  that takes place in London they call it conferences. to take part all the performances in theatre for example music gigs, UAL performing arts acting level three year two, Dancing Musical theatre level three year two.
Therefore I need to research a lot about live mixing on how I can use it in theatre by recording  Dancing Musical theatre music gigs. So they can listen to on YouTube or sound cloud I will be doing soundcheck with all the microphones if they are working properly and if they are not have then I will have to ask music technician to fix it. I  want to learn how to connect the cables from Allen and heath sound desk equipment. 

I will be mentoring the first year production arts level 3 year 1  students on how to use the Allen and Health sound desk mixer it would be good idea to show them on Q lab how to use through the Apple mac book laptop this will beneficial for me I could show them the  different techniques on live mixing, and understanding EQ system. Also will be more active using the sound desk at college giving more use of how should approve by running a performances that takes in theatre as become a sound technician  I will be using a laptop by drawing diagrams to show the teachers and students how they want their stage to be like for any performances in theatre.  This will be good for myself so I can do this my apprenticeship jobs that i will attend to apply for in December.
